Penny Neville-Lee - Illustration Portfolio

I absolutely love Christmas and my zeal for advent calendars and all things festive has never really left me from the childhood days where I used to jimmy open the back of my chocolate one and help myself to random days (sorry mum!). There is something uniquely magical about the period of sparkle and anticipation that comes in the lead up to the holidays. For the last few years I have made drawings each day during advent, starting with the blue and red watercolour and gouache ones at the bottom of this page, and most recently as an evolving tableau of a day in the life of a fictional bookshop, made on the ipad (which you can read more about here).

I was lucky enough to have my calendar from a couple of years ago, put into production by Woodmansterne cards, where it has sold in a variety of shops including Liberty of London. The dream!
